Dylanfest FAQ

Dylanfest Facebook Page

Thanks so much for your interest in the 27th Annual Dylanfest! We are looking forward to a great event. Please spread the word, invite some friends, and help us make this year’s festival the biggest and best yet!  The Dylanfest is an 8-hour celebration of the music of Bob Dylan. We started it in 1991 and have been holding the event ever since. The show started with our band  and a few friends doing 4 sets of Bob Dylan songs, and it has grown to a 8-hour event with over 50 musicians performing over 60 Dylan songs. Our band, Hard Rain, is the "house band", and we are joined by solo artists, full bands and instrumentalists throughout the course of the day. The show is at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in the Torino Plaza. Bring a jacket for later...In case of rain, the event will go on, and we will move inside.

VIP Ticket $100- VIP tickets include: Entry fee ($35), Dylanfest T- Shirt ($20), Invitation to Dylanfest rehearsal 5/6, 26th Annual Dylanfest Highlight CD ($15),  Dylanfest Mug ($10), Dylanfest Shaker Egg ($5), Invite to Post-Dylanfest VIP meal ($30), VIP Lanyard, your name on our "VIP Thank You" Board, PLUS your name goes into a drawing where the winner gets to count off "Like A Rolling Stone" 1-2-3-4!

Advance tickets can be purchased on our website store until Saturday, May 6th.  If you are unable to get to the website, call Andy at 310-346-9383 for tickets. This is a great value for all this wonderful music! But, if you have trouble affording the event, please contact us.

There will be food and drinks (non-alcoholic drinks, water & sodas) plus beer and wine available for a reasonable price. The food will be provided by acclaimed Chef Michael Shafer of The Depot and Buffalo Fire Department restaurants in Torrance. Please do not bring in any outside food or beverages, and bring ID if you plan on purchasing alcohol. No alcohol will be served without proper ID.

The audience is encouraged to dress up in costumes as characters, things, interpretations and misinterpretations of Dylan’s song titles or lyrics.    A misinterpretation would be when Hard Rain's guitarist, Kirk Makin,  dressed up as Angus Young (of AC DC) as a play on the song title ‘Forever Young.’”   Some of the costumes over the years have also included various versions of “Tangled Up In Blue,” “Highway 61,” “Farmer’s Daughter,” “Isis” and “Baby Blue,” among others.
