2019 Dylanfest FAQ


Thanks so much for your interest in the 29th Annual Dylanfest! We are looking forward to a great event. Please spread the word, invite some friends, and help us make this year’s festival the biggest and best yet! If we all just brought ONE friend, we’d double our attendance! Please fill out the information on the back of your ticket before coming to the show. Your filled out ticket will enter you in a drawing for some great prizes! Thanks!

What is the Dylanfest?The Dylanfest is an 8 hour celebration of the music of Bob Dylan. We started it in 1991 and have been holding the event ever since. The show started with our band and a few friends doing 4 sets of Bob Dylan songs, and it has grown to an 8-hour event with over 50 musicians performing over 60 Dylan songs. Our band, Hard Rain, is the "house band", and we are joined by solo artists, full bands and instrumentalists throughout the course of the day.

When and where is the 2018 Dylanfest?
Sunday, May 5th, Doors open at 11:45am, show runs from 12-8pm. The show is OUTSIDE at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in the Torino Plaza. The address is 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, CA 90503, next to the James Armstrong Theatre.

Are all ages welcome? Yes. You must bring ID if you wish to drink alcohol. Please, for insurance purposes, NO PETS.

Is the event inside or outside? The event is outside. There will be some shaded areas, but bring a hat and sunscreen so you can enjoy the beautiful California sunshine! Bring a jacket for later as it gets windy in the afternoon...In case of rain, the event will move inside the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.

Will there be food and drink available for purchase, or should I bring my own?
There will be food and drinks (non-alcoholic drinks, water & sodas) plus beer and wine available for a reasonable price. Thefood will be provided by acclaimed Chef Michael Shafer of The Depot and Buffalo Fire Department restaurants in Torrance.Please do not bring in any outside food or beverages, and bring ID if you plan on purchasing alcohol.No alcohol will be served without proper ID. Cash Only for Food.

What about seating?

There will be tables and chairs provided. You may bring a beach chair if you like!

What about parking?
There is plenty of free parking at the Cultural Arts Center.

Can I buy tickets the day of the event? Yes, if you need to wait until the day of the event. We appreciate getting your tickets in advance so we know roughly how many to expect.

Tickets are $25 until Feb 15th, $30 March 2nd-May 4th, and $35 at the door. Kids are $10 (under 14 yrs). VIP tickets are available for $100. VIP tickets include: Entry fee, Dylanfest T Shirt, Dylanfest Shaker Egg, 2016 Dylanfest Best of CD, Invite to Post-Dylanfest VIP Party, VIP Hanging Tag (thing you wear around your neck), your name on our "VIP Thank You" Board, PLUS your name goes into a drawing where the winner gets to count off "Like A Rolling Stone" 1-2-3-4!

Advance tickets can be purchased on our website, www.andyandrenee.com until Saturday, May 5th.  If you are unable to get to the website, call Andy at 310-346-9383 for tickets. This is a great value for all this wonderful music! But, if you have trouble affording the event, please contact us.

I heard it started as a costume party…Do I have to wear a costume?
As you may know, the Dylanfest started out as costume party where attendees and musicians wore interpretations of Bob Dylan lyrics. You aren't required to wear a costume, but it makes it a lot of fun when you do! Go to www.bobdylan.comto get ideas from Bob Dylan lyrics. Do you have T-Shirts and CDs and DVDs?
Why yes we do! We will have t-shirts, and our highly-acclaimed Dylan Tribute CD, "It Takes A Lot To Laugh", and other Andy & Renee and Hard Rain CDs available the day of the show. We also have a fantastic 1 1/2 hour DVD of the 2009 Dylanfest and a 2-Volume DVD of the 2015 Dylanfest available for purchase. Thanks for asking!
