Dream It All Away
(©2007 Andy Hill)
I was actually trying to write “Ruby Tuesday” but it ended up sounding more like Queen… Like most writers, I spend a lot of time in my own head, and this song was a conversation with the “I”behind the thoughts.

If you didn’t know how old you were
How old would you be?
If yesterday were washed away
And you woke tomorrow free

If you could dream it all away
What are the changes you would make?
If there were only now
What would you leave, what would you take
I’m only asking…

If you didn’t have a memory
What injury would you forget?
If time withdrew without haunting you
And reappeared without regret

And you could dream it all away
What are the changes you would make?
If there were only now
What would you leave, what would you take
I’m only asking…

If I could stop these voices in my head
Maybe I could hear my life instead
