You'll Be Mine 'Til The Cows Come Home
(© Ben and Ed Munro)
This quirky and penetrating love story mystifyingly became our most
requested song until an uncomfortable incident caused Renee
to retire it suddenly from performance in the late 90’s.

Home Home Home….

Well I ran out of gas, had no cash, things sucked the bone
There was nothin’ around except miles of ground
Where’s a guy to find a phone?

Then I saw your face from behind the wheel of a truck full of styrofoam
You said, “Hop on in!”, and I knew right then
I’d make you mine until the cows come home

You’ll be mine til the cows come, mine til’ the cows
You’ll be mine til’ the cows come home

Well I undid my fly with a wink of the eye but you played a little hard to get
I said, “Ah, come on…” but you said, “Hey, hold on…
You haven’t made that phone call yet!”
But I knew in my heart you’d be the girl for me wherever my feet might roam
You said, “Forget that phone Boy, we’re all alone
I’ll make you mine until the cows come home”

You’ll be mine til the cows come, Mine til’ the cows
You’ll be mine til’ the cows come home

Now we’re old and grey and I bless the day I put my ring upon your hand
And those cows I’ve learned, as far as I’m concerned
Are still grazin’ in a foreign land
So give the kids a kiss and we’ll reminisce
About the night you finally dropped your gear
Upon that styrofoam as we were driving home
You let me slip it to you from the rear

And you’d be mine…
