SoCal favorites, Andy & Renee, along with their band Hard Rain, have taken their unique sound and multi-instrumental skills to venues large and small all over the world. Named, “Best of The Beach” for many consecutive years by The Easy Reader, their seventeen CD and three DVD releases have also won them countless awards. They are known for their numerous energy-packed live performances and have made a name for themselves as producers and performers of Dylanfest, an 8-hour music festival attended by hundreds of fans and featuring many of L.A.’s top musicians annually in the Spring.

In May of 2020, we were set to produce the “Biggest Dylanfest Ever!”, our 30th annual, 8-hour musical celebration of Bob Dylan, when the COVID pandemic shook everyone’s foundation to its core. Many lost their lives; we were all frightened, as the world’s population was thrown into isolation from each other and their livelihoods. We knew that music was a way to connect people, so, we embarked on a journey to learn how to bring the festival into people’s homes virtually. We produced 9 hours of music spread over 3 days, with live performances from our studio by us, Andy & Renee, 40 different artists doing their videoed versions of great Dylan songs, and 6 music videos recorded remotely by our band, Hard Rain. These tracks were knitted together by our friend and producer, Marty Rifkin. Realizing we had 6 songs “in the can”, we added 4 more songs to make The Wheel And The Plow, a tribute not only to the music of Bob Dylan, but to the tenacity of musicians and their audiences, and to the power of music and its unifying qualities.
